Getting in the door
DC Bilingual has three entrances. Two face the parking lot: the large glass atrium, which is the main entrance and has a wheelchair lift, and an elevator entrance closer to the driveway. The front door on Riggs Road has stairs.
From the Fort Totten Metro station (Red, Green, and Yellow lines), it's a 10- to 15-minute walk, uphill. Buses C71, C77, C81, D44, M60, P15, and P16 stop nearby, by the Fort Totten Walmart.
What happens
Sundays run about 90 minutes. On a typical Sunday, about 70 people fill the room, and more than 200 take part in the life of the church. We sing three to five songs, with drums and guitars instead of robes or an organ. Members write some of our prayers, and others come from the church's older liturgy; we call ourselves liturgically promiscuous, because we borrow from every tradition and culture our people bring.
Women, LGBTQIA+ people, and people of color preach and lead worship here regularly. We call God she, they, and he, because we believe no single pronoun holds all of who God is.

Every week, everyone is invited to the Table. You don't need to be a member, and there's no test to pass. If you're hungry, literally or otherwise, there's a place for you.
We share leavened bread, usually challah, and grape juice, and a prepackaged gluten-free option is available.
Kids
The nursery is open for babies and toddlers during the service. Kids 3 and older start in worship with everyone for the first couple of songs, then head to TableKIDS classes through 5th grade, and you pick them up when the service ends. Once a month, a Student Ministry for 5th grade and up meets during the service.
