Care Team

Hard seasons come for all of us — a loss, a diagnosis, a job that fell through, a marriage under strain, a stretch of grief or depression, or just being more overwhelmed than you can carry. You shouldn't have to walk through it alone.

The Care Team is a group of trained volunteers from our congregation who show up for people in those seasons. We listen, we pray with you if you'd like, and we help connect you to whatever support you need. We're not here to fix you or to hand you tidy answers. We're here so you don't have to carry it by yourself.

What to expect

Presence, not fixing. Mostly we listen — really listen. You don't have to have it together, and you won't get clichés or unsolicited advice.

You set the pace. Share what you want to share, when you're ready. We won't pry or push.

We follow your lead on faith. If prayer and Scripture would help, we're glad to offer them. If you'd rather we simply sit and listen, that's completely okay. Our care isn't conditional on it.

You're welcome exactly as you are. Whatever your background, culture, identity, or story, you'll be met with respect and without judgment.

What we promise

What you share with the Care Team stays private. We keep only brief notes, shared within the care and pastoral teams so you don't have to retell your story and nothing falls through the cracks — and we don't repeat what you tell us anywhere else. The one exception is safety: if we believe you or someone else is in danger, we'll bring in help. We won't keep a secret that puts a life at risk.

How the Care Team fits with other support

The Care Team is one kind of care, and sometimes it's the doorway to another.

For deeper spiritual or pastoral conversations, sacraments, or premarital and couples work, we'll connect you with one of our pastors through Pastoral Counseling.

The Care Team is not a substitute for professional therapy. When what you're carrying calls for a licensed counselor, we'll gladly help you find a trusted one.

If you need a meal, a ride, or other practical help, we can help arrange it. For financial hardship, our Benevolence Team is a resource.

Reach out

Whether something is heavy right now or you'd just like someone to check in, let us know. You can request care for yourself, or reach out because you're concerned about someone else. Someone from the Care Team will follow up.
